During these quarantine times most of us have had the feeling of loneliness creeping in… not being able to connect physically with family and friends has been challenging.

We are wired to thrive in connection with others with regularly physical contact as well. We all crave this basic human need. Just like babies, their most instinctive need for survival is to be cuddled and comforted.

What do we do when we are faced with severe health challenges…. Not only in times of worldwide lock down do we get face to face with the fear of loneliness and being left in the dark yet so many with chronic conditions or mental illnesses experience this all year around. It’s a true test of our core values and strength when we are forced to spend most of our time in solitude with ourselves.

First we try to adapt to the silence, then we allow emotions to rise. It’s a journey of self-discovery to be spending time alone yet so worth it. We start growing new wings and get to love the beautiful human behind all the stories of the past. We emerge in our inner world which expands so much wider than the outer world when we allow this shift to take place.

When we feel separated and loneliness appear we need to examine the most important relationship… We learn to cultivate and nurture a close connection with ourselves and the feeling of loneliness subside as we start to enjoy spending time alone. This does not mean we don’t need love & connection with others however most likely It will impact the connection with others when we love our own company.

 I feel for all of you going through health challenges right this moment feeling trapped, isolated, alone and struggling … it may fell more intense during a time of worldwide quarantine or on the contrary you may feel less alone as millions of others are going through similar emotions right this moment spending most of their time at home on their own.

5 hours soaking time + 20 min prep

Raw Herbal Spinach Dip

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of Cashews

  • juice of 1/2-1 lemon

  • 1/4 cup of water

  • 1 cloves of garlic or 2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 large handful of parsley

  • 2 cups of spinach

  • 1 little bunch of basil

  • 1 little bunch of cilantro

  • 1-2 tsp of sea salt

  • 1/4 tsp cayenne or paprika

  • a pinch of black pepper

  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast (optional)


Instructions

  • Soaked the cashews for at least 5-6 hours or overnight.

  • Blend all the ingredients in a food processor and fine tune the final dip adding extra spices.

  • Serve with fresh cut veggies sticks or your favorite raw crackers.
